# Bill Guiry

**William J. Guiry** was an [Irish](/source/Irish_people) [Gaelic footballer](/source/Gaelic_football). His [championship](/source/All-Ireland_Senior_Football_Championship) career at senior level with the [Limerick](/source/Limerick_county_football_team) and [Dublin](/source/Dublin_county_football_team) county teams lasted two seasons from 1896 until 1897.[1]

Guiry first played competitive football with the [Commercials](/source/Commercials_GAA_(Limerick)) club in [Limerick](/source/Limerick). He later joined the [Kickhams](/source/Kickhams_GAA) club in [Dublin](/source/Dublin) and enjoyed championship success with both clubs.

Commercials represented Limerick in the [1896 championship](/source/1896_All-Ireland_Senior_Football_Championship), with Guiry lining out and winning a first [All-Ireland](/source/All-Ireland_Senior_Football_Championship) medal. A year later he lined out with Dublin and won a second consecutive All-Ireland medal. Guiry also won a set of [Munster](/source/Munster_Senior_Football_Championship) and [Leinster](/source/Leinster_Senior_Football_Championship) medals.
