# Bill Colthurst

**Reginald William Richard (Bill) Colthurst** (1922–2009)[1] was [Archdeacon of Armagh](/source/Archdeacon_of_Armagh) from 1985 to 1989.

Colthurst was educated at [Trinity College, Dublin](/source/Trinity_College,_Dublin) and the [Church of Ireland Theological College](/source/Church_of_Ireland_Theological_College). He was [ordained](/source/Ordained) in 1942.[2] After [curacies](/source/Curate) in [Portadown](/source/Portadown) and [Belfast](/source/Belfast) he was [the incumbent](/source/Rector_(ecclesiastical)) of [Ardtrea](/source/Ardtrea_North), then [Richhill](/source/Richhill,_County_Armagh),[3] and then [Mullavilly](/source/Mullavilly).
