**Bill Aron** is an American [photographer](/source/Photography) known as an environmental portrait photographer and a chronicler of [Jewish](/source/Jew) communities around the world. Aron's photographs have been exhibited in major museums and galleries throughout the United States and Israel, including the [Museum of Modern Art](/source/Museum_of_Modern_Art), the [International Center for Photography](/source/International_Center_for_Photography), the [Jewish Museum](/source/Jewish_Museum_(Manhattan)), the [Chicago Art Institute](/source/Chicago_Art_Institute), the [Boston Museum of Fine Arts](/source/Boston_Museum_of_Fine_Arts), the [Mississippi Museum of Art](/source/Mississippi_Museum_of_Art), the [Israel Museum](/source/Israel_Museum) in Jerusalem, and the Museum of the Diaspora in Tel-Aviv.

## Background

Bill Aron's first book, *From the Corners of the Earth,* (1986) features photographs of Jews living in the [Soviet Union](/source/Soviet_Union), [Cuba](/source/Cuba), [Jerusalem](/source/Jerusalem), [New York](/source/New_York_City), and [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles). The book's introduction was written by [Chaim Potok](/source/Chaim_Potok).
