**Ruben Bailey** (born September 27, 1969, [Atlanta](/source/Atlanta), [Georgia](/source/Georgia_(U.S._state))), professionally known by his [stage name](/source/Stage_name) **Big Rube**, is an American [spoken word](/source/Spoken_word) artist, rapper and hip hop producer. He is a first-generation member of the [Dungeon Family](/source/Dungeon_Family) and of [Society of Soul](/source/Society_of_Soul).[1] He is known for his spoken word intros and interludes on many albums by fellow members and affiliates of the Dungeon Family, including [Outkast](/source/Outkast), [Goodie Mob](/source/Goodie_Mob), [Killer Mike](/source/Killer_Mike), [Future](/source/Future_(rapper)), [Witchdoctor](/source/Witchdoctor_(rapper)) and [Bubba Sparxxx](/source/Bubba_Sparxxx). He has also contributed his spoken word poetry to *[Russell Simmons' Def Poetry Jam](/source/Def_Poetry_Jam)* and the motion picture *[ATL](/source/ATL_(film))*. He appears on the Outkast songs "13th Floor/Growing Old" and "Liberation" as well as the [CeeLo Green](/source/CeeLo_Green) song “Scrap Metal”.

In 1996, he appeared on the [Red Hot Organization](/source/Red_Hot_Organization)'s compilation CD, *[America Is Dying Slowly](/source/America_Is_Dying_Slowly)*, alongside [Biz Markie](/source/Biz_Markie), [Coolio](/source/Coolio) and [Fat Joe](/source/Fat_Joe), among many other prominent hip hop artists. The CD, meant to raise awareness of the AIDS epidemic among African American men, was heralded as "a masterpiece" by *[The Source](/source/The_Source_(magazine))* magazine.

In later years, Big Rube has made a couple of appearances on recent albums by members of the Dungeon Family. He appeared on the song "General Patton" on [Big Boi](/source/Big_Boi)'s 2010 solo debut *[Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty](/source/Sir_Lucious_Left_Foot%3A_The_Son_of_Chico_Dusty)* and on the intro track "The Future Is Now" on [Future](/source/Future_(rapper))'s debut *[Pluto](/source/Pluto_(Future_album))*. Rube also appeared on the 2013 reunion album from the [Goodie Mob](/source/Goodie_Mob), *[Age Against the Machine](/source/Age_Against_the_Machine)*.

On rare occasions, Rube appears on non-Dungeon Family related projects. Big Rube was featured on [The Internet](/source/The_Internet_(band))'s record [Hive Mind](/source/Hive_Mind_(The_Internet_album)), with the track "It Gets Better (With Time)".
