***Between Night and Dawn*** ([German](/source/German_language): ***Zwischen Nacht und Morgen***) is a 1931 German [drama film](/source/Drama_film) directed by [Gerhard Lamprecht](/source/Gerhard_Lamprecht) and starring [Aud Egede-Nissen](/source/Aud_Egede-Nissen), [Oskar Homolka](/source/Oskar_Homolka), and [Eduard von Winterstein](/source/Eduard_von_Winterstein).[1] The film's sets were designed by the [art director](/source/Art_director), [Otto Moldenhauer](/source/Otto_Moldenhauer). It is a remake of the 1927 [silent film](/source/Silent_film), *[Tragedy of the Street](/source/Tragedy_of_the_Street),* starring [Asta Nielsen](/source/Asta_Nielsen). It was originally intended that she should reprise her role for the sound remake, but ultimately Norwegian actress Aud Egede-Nissen was cast in the role. The film premiered at the [Gloria-Palast](/source/Gloria-Palast) in [Berlin](/source/Berlin).
