# Betsy Sheridan

Anglo Irish diarist

Not to be confused with the subject's sister-in-law [Elizabeth Ann Sheridan](/source/Elizabeth_Ann_Sheridan).

**Ann Elizabeth Sheridan Le Fanu** (1758– 4 January 1837) was an [Anglo-Irish](/source/Anglo-Irish_people) diarist and novelist.[1] She was a daughter of Irish [stage actor](/source/Stage_actor) [Thomas Sheridan](/source/Thomas_Sheridan_(actor)) and the sister of [satirist](/source/Satirist) [Richard Brinsley Sheridan](/source/Richard_Brinsley_Sheridan) and [playwright](/source/Playwright) [Alicia Sheridan Le Fanu](/source/Alicia_Sheridan_Le_Fanu).[2] She married Captain Henry Le Fanu in 1791, and their daughter [Alicia Le Fanu](/source/Alicia_Le_Fanu) was also a writer.[2]
