**Beth Pasternak** is a Canadian [costume designer](/source/Costume_designer). She has worked on films with director [Atom Egoyan](/source/Atom_Egoyan), such as *[The Sweet Hereafter](/source/The_Sweet_Hereafter_(film))* (1997), *[Ararat](/source/Ararat_(film))* (2002) and *[Where the Truth Lies](/source/Where_the_Truth_Lies)*, as well as [Kevin Smith](/source/Kevin_Smith)'s 2011 horror film *[Red State](/source/Red_State_(2011_film))*.[1]

Pasternak was nominated for the [Genie Award for Best Costume Design](/source/Academy_of_Canadian_Cinema_and_Television_Award_for_Best_Achievement_in_Costume_Design) for *The Sweet Hereafter*.[2] For *Ararat*, she had to have historically modeled costumes made by hand,[3] and won the Genie Award for Best Costume Design.[4]
