**Benscliffe Wood** is a 9.8 hectares (24 acres) biological [Site of Special Scientific Interest](/source/Site_of_Special_Scientific_Interest) in [Leicestershire](/source/Leicestershire).[1][2]

This wood has one of the richest varieties of lichens in the [East Midlands](/source/West_Midlands_(region)), with over thirty species growing on [Precambrian](/source/Precambrian) rocks. Eleven of the species are rare in the county.[3]

The site is private land with no public access.
