**Benjamin John** is a Papua New Guinean [rugby league](/source/Rugby_league) and [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) footballer who has played in the 2000s and 2010s. He has played representative rugby league (RL) for [Papua New Guinea](/source/Papua_New_Guinea_national_rugby_league_team) and at club level for the [Parkes Spacemen](/source/Parkes_Spacemen) and [Bathurst St Patrick's](/source/Bathurst_St_Patrick's), as a , and representative rugby union (RU) at [rugby union sevens](/source/Rugby_union_sevens) for [Papua New Guinea](/source/Papua_New_Guinea_national_rugby_sevens_team).

## Playing career

John played rugby league in the [SP Inter-City Cup](/source/Papua_New_Guinea_National_Rugby_League) before switching to [rugby union sevens](/source/Rugby_union_sevens) and playing for [Papua New Guinea](/source/Papua_New_Guinea_national_rugby_sevens_team) on the [Sevens World Series](/source/Sevens_World_Series).

In 2010 John returned to rugby league and moved to Australia, playing for the [Parkes Spacemen](/source/Parkes_Spacemen) in the [Group 11 Rugby League](/source/Group_11_Rugby_League) competition.[1]

John first represented [Papua New Guinea](/source/Papua_New_Guinea_national_rugby_league_team) in rugby league in 2007 against [France](/source/France_national_rugby_league_team). In 2010 he was selected in the team that competed in the [Four Nations](/source/2010_Rugby_League_Four_Nations), playing in all three matches.[2]

In 2014 he played for [Bathurst St Patrick's](/source/Bathurst_St_Patrick's) in the [Group 10 Rugby League](/source/Group_10_Rugby_League) competition.[3]
