Guinness married [Lady Henrietta St Lawrence](/source/Lady_Henrietta_St_Lawrence), daughter of the [3rd Earl of Howth](/source/Thomas_St_Lawrence%2C_3rd_Earl_of_Howth), on 6 September 1881.<ref name= herald/> They had three children: [Algernon](/source/Sir_Algernon_Guinness%2C_3rd_Baronet), [Kenelm](/source/Kenelm_Lee_Guinness), and Nigel.

He served in the [British Army](/source/British_Army) as a captain in the [Royal Horse Guards](/source/Royal_Horse_Guards).<ref name= herald/><ref name= grazia/>

Guinness died on 2 February 1900.
