==Life==
He was the son of Joseph Enos and Thankful Enos. On April 5, 1810, he married Sarah Doty (1788–1884) at [Canaan, New York](/source/Canaan%2C_New_York). In 1814, they settled in DeRuyter, NY.

He was a member from [Madison County](/source/Madison_County%2C_New_York) of the [New York State Assembly](/source/New_York_State_Assembly) in 1834, 1839 and 1840. He was Supervisor of the Town of DeRuyter in 1837. In 1842, he was elected by the [New York State Legislature](/source/New_York_State_Legislature) a [canal commissioner](/source/Erie_Canal_Commission). As a member of the [Hunker](/source/Barnburners_and_Hunkers) faction of the [Democratic Party](/source/United_States_Democratic_Party), he was [New York State Treasurer](/source/New_York_State_Treasurer) from 1845 to 1846.
