He was born in [Bristol](/source/Bristol), and currently resides in [Somerset](/source/Somerset). Peverall started umpiring in 2014 in the [West of England Premier League](/source/West_of_England_Premier_League) before being elevated to the [ECB](/source/England_and_Wales_Cricket_Board) National Panel of Umpires in 2019, standing in ECB Second XI Championship and National Counties Cricket Association fixtures. During this time, he began his county career standing in women's [List A](/source/List_A_cricket) matches, the first coming in the 2014 Women's One Day Cup, in [Somerset's](/source/Somerset_Women_cricket_team) win over [Ireland](/source/Ireland_women's_cricket_team).
