Liddle signed his first professional contract with [Middlesbrough](/source/Middlesbrough_F.C.) in the summer of 2016.<ref name="11v11"/> Liddle appeared in the [EFL Trophy](/source/EFL_Trophy) for the Middlesbrough U23 side in both the [2017–18](/source/2017%E2%80%9318_EFL_Trophy) and the [2018–19 competitions](/source/2018%E2%80%9319_EFL_Trophy), featuring in all three group matches in each.
