**Belloc** (bɛlɔk; Occitan: *Bèllòc*) is a [commune](/source/Communes_of_France) in the [Ariège](/source/Ari%C3%A8ge_(department)) [department](/source/Departments_of_France) of southwestern [France](/source/France).

It is located between [Mirepoix](/source/Mirepoix,_Ari%C3%A8ge) and [Foix](/source/Foix) and sits in the midst of a vast agricultural area.

## Cuisine

The region features a robust cuisine including [cassoulet](/source/Cassoulet) and [confit de canard](/source/Confit_de_canard) and wines including the corbieres, [minervois](/source/Minervois) and malepere.[citation needed] The semi-hard ewe's milk cheese [Abbaye de Belloc](/source/Abbaye_de_Belloc) was first made here in the monastery of Notre-Dame de Belloc.[citation needed]
