# Bellingham Subdivision

The **Bellingham Subdivision** or **Bellingham Sub** is a railway line running about 119 miles[1] (191 km) from [Everett, Washington](/source/Everett,_Washington) to [Blaine, Washington](/source/Blaine,_Washington). It is operated by [BNSF Railway](/source/BNSF_Railway).

## Description

Traveling north from PA Jct. in [Everett](/source/Everett,_Washington), the main line of the BNSF heads north through [Delta Yard](/source/Delta_Yard) and [Delta Jct](/source/Delta_Jct) The line crosses the [Snohomish River](/source/Snohomish_River) and across 4 bridges 3 that are movable for boat traffic. The line passes through the city of [Marysville](/source/Marysville,_Washington) and by Kruse Jct. which leads to [Arlington](/source/Arlington,_Washington) 6.9 miles (11.1 km) away.

The main line then continues north to the siding at English and the first [Amtrak Cascades](/source/Amtrak_Cascades) stop north of [Everett](/source/Everett,_Washington) at the city of [Stanwood](/source/Stanwood,_Washington). The line continues into the [Skagit Valley](/source/Skagit_Valley) and passing [Conway](/source/Conway,_Washington) and to the next station for Amtrak Cascades at [Mount Vernon](/source/Mount_Vernon,_Washington).

The line continues north past the old [Mount Vernon](/source/Mount_Vernon,_Washington) station and to the junction at [Burlington](/source/Burlington,_Washington) with the offshoot to Fidalgo or [Fidalgo Island](/source/Fidalgo_Island) to the west and the [Sumas Subdivision](/source/Sumas_Subdivision) to the east. From here the line continues north through [Bow](/source/Bow,_Washington) to the next station at [Fairhaven Station](/source/Fairhaven_Station). After passing through downtown [Bellingham](/source/Bellingham,_Washington) and the old depot, the line continues north through [Ferndale](/source/Ferndale,_Washington) to the end of the subdivision at [Blaine](/source/Blaine,_Washington).

Scheduled traffic on the Bellingham Subdivision consists of four Amtrak Cascades Trains, several manifest trains and occasional unit trains of coal and coke going to [Roberts Bank](/source/Roberts_Bank_Superport)[2][3]
