The **Belbo** is a river of southern [Piedmont](/source/Piedmont), [Italy](/source/Italy). It is a [right-side](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/right_bank) tributary of the [Tanaro](/source/Tanaro_River).

## Geography

The Belbo rises in the [Langhe](/source/Langhe), on the borders between [Piedmont](/source/Piedmont) and [Liguria](/source/Liguria) in the hills of [Montezemolo](/source/Montezemolo%2C_Piedmont). After flowing through the Piedmontese provinces of [Cuneo](/source/Province_of_Cuneo), [Asti](/source/Province_of_Asti) and [Alessandria](/source/Province_of_Alessandria), the river joins the Tanaro from the right at [Villa del Foro](/source/Villa_del_Foro), in the [comune](/source/Comune) of [Alessandria](/source/Alessandria).
