**Beit Hazon** (Hebrew: בית חזון) is a predominantly English-speaking neighbourhood of [Kfar Haroeh](/source/Kfar_Haroeh) in central [Israel](/source/Israel).

## History

The neighbourhood was formed by a group of [immigrants](/source/Aliyah) from [England](/source/England), [South Africa](/source/South_Africa) and the [United States](/source/United_States). It was named after [Avrohom Yeshaya Karelitz](/source/Avrohom_Yeshaya_Karelitz), who was also known as *Hazon Ish*. In 2008, Beit Hazon residents submitted a request to be registered as an independent [community settlement](/source/Community_settlement_(Israel)).[1] However, it was not recognized as a separate entity by the local authority, the [Hefer Valley Regional Council](/source/Hefer_Valley_Regional_Council).
