'''Beeton''' is a small community located in southern [Simcoe County](/source/Simcoe_County), [Ontario](/source/Ontario), Canada between [Tottenham](/source/Tottenham%2C_Ontario) and [Alliston](/source/Alliston%2C_Ontario); all three were amalgamated in 1991 into the single Town of [New Tecumseth](/source/New_Tecumseth%2C_Ontario).  Beeton was named for a local apiary. Beeton has one public elementary school (Tecumseth Beeton Elementary School) and one Catholic elementary school (Monsignor J.E Ronan Catholic School).

==Railway==

Beeton was a stop on the [Hamilton and North-Western Railway](/source/Hamilton_and_North-Western_Railway). The railway split just north of the townsite, at a location then known as Allimil, running northeast through [Cookstown](/source/Cookstown%2C_Ontario) to [Barrie](/source/Barrie%2C_Ontario) and northwest through [Alliston](/source/Alliston%2C_Ontario) to [Collingwood](/source/Collingwood%2C_Ontario). The line was later taken over by the [Grand Trunk Railway](/source/Grand_Trunk_Railway), eventually turning into [Canadian National Railways](/source/Canadian_National_Railways). [Canadian Pacific Railway](/source/Canadian_Pacific_Railway) constructed a second line just to the west of town, and the CNR right-of-way was closed in the 1970s. The portion of the CNR railway running from Beeton south to [Tottenham](/source/Tottenham%2C_Ontario) is now used for the [South Simcoe Railway](/source/South_Simcoe_Railway), a [heritage railway](/source/heritage_railway).
