# Bedeque

**Bedeque** (/bəˈdɛk/)[1] is a former municipality that previously held [community](/source/List_of_municipalities_in_Prince_Edward_Island#Communities) status in the [Canadian province](/source/Provinces_and_territories_of_Canada) of [Prince Edward Island](/source/Prince_Edward_Island).[2] It was dissolved through its amalgamation with the [Community of Central Bedeque](/source/Central_Bedeque) on November 17, 2014 to create the [Community of Bedeque and Area](/source/Bedeque_and_Area,_Prince_Edward_Island).[2]
