# Beatrix Thomson

**Beatrix Thomson** (1900–1986) was a British [stage actress](/source/Stage_actress).[1] She also made a handful of appearances in film and television. A graduate of [RADA](/source/RADA), she made her [West End](/source/West_End_theatre) debut in [John Galsworthy](/source/John_Galsworthy)'s *[Loyalties](/source/Loyalties_(play))* in 1922.[2] She was married to the actor [Claude Rains](/source/Claude_Rains) from 1924 to 1935.[3]

Her film roles include [Lucie Dreyfus](/source/Lucie_Dreyfus) in *[Dreyfus](/source/Dreyfus_(1931_film))* (1931) and the title role in [Michael Powell](/source/Michael_Powell)'s [quota quickie](/source/Quota_quickie) *[Crown v. Stevens](/source/Crown_v._Stevens)* (1936).

She also wrote several works for the stage.
