# Bavor II

**Bavor II**, known as **Bavor the Great** (Czech: *Bavor Veliký*; c. 1220 – c. 1279), was a Czech nobleman. He was the feudal ruler of [Strakonice](/source/Strakonice) in [Bohemia](/source/Bohemia) and [Castellan](/source/Castellan) of royal [Zvíkov Castle](/source/Zv%C3%ADkov_Castle).

He was the son of [Bavor I](/source/Bavor_I) of the noble [Bavors of Strakonice](/source/Bavors_of_Strakonice) family. He held [Pořešín](/source/Kaplice), [Blatná](/source/Blatn%C3%A1), [Horažďovice](/source/Hora%C5%BE%C4%8Fovice), and others, including the [Bouzov Castle](/source/Bouzov_Castle). He took as his wife [Agnes](/source/Agnes,_daughter_of_Ottokar_II), the illegitimate daughter of [Otakar II of Bohemia](/source/Otakar_II_of_Bohemia). He built a new palace, giving his former palace to the [Knights Hospitallers](/source/Knights_Hospitallers). He was a favorite of the Bohemian king and served as [Supreme Marshal of the Kingdom of Bohemia](/source/Supreme_Marshal_of_the_Kingdom_of_Bohemia).

Bavor and Anežka had three sons, [Bavor III](/source/Bavor_III), his heir, Mikuláš and Vilém.
