**Batty Bay** is a narrow bay in the [Qikiqtaaluk Region](/source/Qikiqtaaluk_Region), [Nunavut](/source/Nunavut), Canada. It is an arm of [Prince Regent Inlet](/source/Prince_Regent_Inlet) on the eastern side of [Somerset Island](/source/Somerset_Island_(Nunavut)).

## History

It was an area frequented by Arctic explorers such as Sir [John Franklin](/source/John_Franklin)[2] and Captain [John Ross](/source/John_Ross_(Royal_Navy_officer)),[3] who left his boats there in 1832. The explorer [William Kennedy](/source/William_Kennedy_(explorer)) wintered there in 1852.
