**Batman Highway** is a two-lane rural highway in northern [Tasmania](/source/Tasmania). The highway links the [East Tamar](/source/East_Tamar_Highway) and [West Tamar](/source/West_Tamar_Highway) Highways via the [Batman Bridge](/source/Batman_Bridge) and provides the only crossing of the [Tamar River](/source/Tamar_River_(Tasmania)) north of the city of [Launceston](/source/Launceston%2C_Tasmania). The highway also serves traffic from the West Tamar area to the port of Bell Bay.[1]
