# Bassem Hemeida

**Bassem Hemeida** (born 28 March 2000 in Egypt) is a [Qatari](/source/Qatar) hurdler who specializes in the [400 metres hurdles](/source/400_metres_hurdles).

He won the silver medal at the [2018 Asian Junior Championships](/source/2018_Asian_Junior_Athletics_Championships) and the [2018 World U20 Championships](/source/2018_IAAF_World_U20_Championships_%E2%80%93_Men's_400_metres_hurdles), and finished fourth at the [2019 Asian Championships](/source/2019_Asian_Athletics_Championships_%E2%80%93_Men's_400_metres_hurdles).[1] At the 2019 Asian Championships he also won a bronze medal in the [4 × 400 metres relay](/source/2019_Asian_Athletics_Championships_%E2%80%93_Men's_4_%C3%97_400_metres_relay).

His personal best time is 48.52 seconds, achieved at the 2023 Aisan Games [2022 Asian Games](/source/2022_Asian_Games).

His older sister [Bassant Hemida](/source/Bassant_Hemida) (representing Egypt) is a sprinter while his younger brother [Seif Heneida](/source/Seif_Heneida) (also representing Qatar) is a pole vaulter.[2]
