# Basil Patchitt

**Basil Clement Alderson Patchitt** (8 August 1900 – 2 July 1991) was an English international [footballer](/source/Association_football) who earned two caps for the [England national team](/source/England_national_football_team) in 1923, captaining the team on both occasions.[2][3] Patchitt, who played as a [right half](/source/Midfielder#Wing_half), played club football for [Cambridge University](/source/Cambridge_University_A.F.C.), [Corinthian](/source/Corinthian_F.C.) and [Castleford Town](/source/Castleford_Town_F.C.).[4] He had earlier attended [Charterhouse School](/source/Charterhouse_School).[5]
