Kumasi is the regional capital of the [Ashanti Region](/source/Ashanti_Region) of [Ghana](/source/Ghana).[1] Bantama is both a [residential](/source/Residential_area) and commercial area in the [Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly](/source/Kumasi_Metropolitan_Assembly). It is in the center of the regional capital.[2]
