# Banner Mania

**Banner Mania** was a [banner](/source/Banner) making program for [IBM PC compatible](/source/IBM_PC_compatible) computers, enabling the user to create banners, posters, signs and logos.[1] It was released by [Broderbund](/source/Broderbund) in 1989 and was developed for Pixellite Group by [Presage Software Development](/source/Presage_Software_Development) and written by Christopher Schardt and Dane Bigham.[2]

Banner Mania allowed the user to create and print multi-page banners, with 19 different fonts[3] and effects in 16 colors.[4]

## Requirements

The PC version basic requirements were a [8088](/source/8088) based computer running [MS-DOS 2.0](/source/MS-DOS_2.0) or [PC DOS 2.1](/source/PC_DOS_2.1). A license cost $35 in 1991.[3]

[MDA](/source/IBM_Monochrome_Display_Adapter), [CGA](/source/Color_Graphics_Adapter), [Hercules](/source/Hercules_Graphics_Card), [TGA](/source/Tandy_Graphics_Adapter), [EGA](/source/Enhanced_Graphics_Adapter) and [VGA](/source/Video_Graphics_Array) graphic modes are supported.

A version for the [Apple II](/source/Apple_II) also existed.[5][6] A [Mac](/source/Macintosh) version was announced in 1990, selling for $59.95.[7]
