**Siril Pettus**, known professionally as **Bandmanrill**, is an American rapper from [Newark, New Jersey](/source/Newark,_New_Jersey). He is currently signed to 100%Pure and [Warner Music Group](/source/Warner_Music_Group)[2] and is noted as a pioneer of the hip-hop scene with his fusing of elements of [Jersey club](/source/Jersey_club) and [drill](/source/Drill_music).[3]

## Career

Bandmanrill began rapping in 2020 during the [COVID-19 pandemic](/source/COVID-19_pandemic). In April 2021, he released his track "Heartbroken" which was selected by [Pitchfork](/source/Pitchfork_(website)) as the "must-hear rap song of the day".[4] In November 2021, he released a freestyle titled "Tonight’s Da Night Freestyle".[5] In August 2022, he released his single titled "Real Hips",[6] which is described by [Jon Caramanica](/source/Jon_Caramanica) of *[The New York Times](/source/The_New_York_Times)* as "a surprisingly luscious and nimble offering from the Newark rapper Bandmanrill that makes plain the through lines that connect drill music, Jersey club and bass music".[7] In October 2022, he released his debut project *Club Godfather*.,[8] which contains collaborations with [NLE Choppa](/source/NLE_Choppa), [Lay Bankz](/source/Lay_Bankz), [Skaiwater](/source/Skaiwater), [Sha EK](/source/Sha_EK), and DJ Swill B.
