The '''Baladites''', formally known as the '''Lebanese Maronite Order''' ({{Langx|la|Ordo Libanensis Maronitarum}}; abbreviated '''OLM'''), is a monastic order among the [Levant](/source/Levant)-based, Catholic [Maronite Church](/source/Maronite_Church), which from the beginning has been specifically a [monastic](/source/monastic) Church.<ref name=Catholic/> The order was founded in 1694 in the Monastery of [Mart Moura](/source/Saint_Moura), [Ehden](/source/Ehden), Lebanon, by three [Maronite](/source/Maronite) young men from [Aleppo](/source/Aleppo), Syria, under the patronage of [Patriarch](/source/List_of_Maronite_Patriarchs) [Estephan El Douaihy](/source/Estephan_El_Douaihy) (1670–1704).

The [Aleppian](/source/Mariamite_Maronite_Order) monks of [Aleppo](/source/Aleppo), a city in present [Syria](/source/Syria) resulted from a split with the Baladites. [Pope Clement XIV](/source/Pope_Clement_XIV) sanctioned this separation in 1770.<ref name=Catholic>{{Catholic|wstitle=Eastern Monasticism}}</ref>
