# Bala Bello

**Bala Mohammed Bello** is a Nigerian banker who serves as the Deputy Governor of Corporate Services at the [Central Bank of Nigeria](/source/Central_Bank_of_Nigeria).[1] He was appointed by President [Bola Tinubu](/source/Bola_Tinubu) in September 2023.[2] He is a member of the bank's Monetary Policy Committee.[3]

## Education

Bala obtained his bachelors degree in accounting and an MBA from [Ahmadu Bello University](/source/Ahmadu_Bello_University), Zaria. He also attended and completed the High Potential Leadership Program at [Harvard Business School](/source/Harvard_Business_School).[4] He was conferred with a Doctor of Business Administration (*Honoris Causa*) by the [Commonwealth University](/source/Commonwealth_University_(London)) in conjunction with the [London Graduate School](/source/London_Graduate_School). He had his PhD in Leadership and Management from [ESAE University](/source/ESAE_University), Benin Republic.[5]

## Career

Bello was appointed as Executive Director and member of the management team of NEXIM Bank in 2017.[6] He was reappointed in 2022 for another five-year term.[7]
