**Bairabi** is a [census town](/source/Census_town) in [Kolasib district](/source/Kolasib_district) in the state of [Mizoram](/source/Mizoram), [India](/source/India).

## Demographics

## Connectivity

Bairabi is currently the only major railhead of Mizoram, connected with a broad-gauge line. The Katakhal-Bairabi metre-gauge track was converted to broad gauge. After receiving the status of national project, it was fast-tracked and completed on 21 March 2016.[2] Presently, the daily 05567/05568 Passenger Special between [Silchar](/source/Silchar) and [Bairabi](/source/Bairabi_railway_station) connects the two towns in about 3 hours and 30 minutes.
