***Badsville*** is a 2017 [action](/source/Action_film) drama film directed by [April Mullen](/source/April_Mullen) and starring [Robert Knepper](/source/Robert_Knepper) and [Emilio Rivera](/source/Emilio_Rivera).[1]

## Production

According to the *[Niagara Falls Review](/source/Niagara_Falls_Review)*, Mullen expressed interest in directing the film after [David Phillips](/source/David_Phillips_(actor)) showed her the script.[2] The film was shot in [Southern California](/source/Southern_California).[3]

On November 3, 2016, it was announced that [Epic Pictures](/source/Epic_Pictures_Group) acquired the distribution rights to *Badsville*.[4]

## Reception

Gary MacDonald of *[The Globe and Mail](/source/The_Globe_and_Mail)* wrote "*Badsville'*s an ugly place, but the acting/directing chops in this indie film brighten it considerably".[5]

Gary Goldstein of the *[Los Angeles Times](/source/Los_Angeles_Times)* said, "Forget the cheapo title, *Badsville* is a powerful, deeply felt crime drama about letting go of the past and getting out of Dodge - before it's too late".[6]
