"**Baby-Baby-Baby**" is a song by American [girl group](/source/Girl_group) [TLC](/source/TLC_(group)). It was the second single released from their debut [studio album](/source/Studio_album), *[Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip](/source/Ooooooohhh..._On_the_TLC_Tip)* (1992), and their second consecutive top-10 hit. It was the most successful single from the album, reaching number two on both the US [*Billboard* Hot 100](/source/Billboard_Hot_100) and [*Cash Box* Top 100](/source/Cash_Box_Top_100_Pop_Singles), and number one on the [*Billboard*](/source/Billboard_(magazine)) [Hot R&B Singles](/source/Hot_R%26B_Singles) chart, giving them their first number-one on the latter.

## Background

"Baby-Baby-Baby" was written and produced by [Babyface](/source/Babyface_(musician)), [L.A. Reid](/source/L.A._Reid) and [Daryl Simmons](/source/Daryl_Simmons). The song features lead vocals from [Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins](/source/Tionne_Watkins), with [Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas](/source/Rozonda_Thomas) adlibbing and singing the middle-8 sections. It is the first song not to contain a rap by [Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes](/source/Lisa_Lopes), who instead recorded a rap for the song's remix version.

## Critical reception

[Allmusic](/source/AllMusic) gave "Baby-Baby-Baby" a 5-star rating.[2]

## Commercial performance

"Baby-Baby-Baby" held the runner-up spot on the [*Billboard* Hot 100](/source/Billboard_Hot_100) for six consecutive weeks, from August 15 to September 19, 1992. It also reached number one on the [*Billboard*](/source/Billboard_(magazine)) [Hot R&B Singles](/source/Hot_R%26B_Singles) chart. "Baby-Baby-Baby" finished at number five on the [*Billboard* Year-End Hot 100 Singles of 1992](/source/Billboard_Year-End_Hot_100_singles_of_1992), and was certified [Platinum](/source/RIAA_certification) by the [Recording Industry Association of America](/source/Recording_Industry_Association_of_America) (RIAA) in 1992.[1]
