# Azim Hussein

**Azim Hussein** is an [Indo-Fijian](/source/Indo-Fijians) educationalist and politician who won the [Nasinu Rewa Open Constituency](/source/Nasinu_Rewa_(Open_Constituency,_Fiji)) for the [Labour Party](/source/Fiji_Labour_Party) in [2006 general election](/source/2006_Fijian_general_election) defeating the John Ali of [Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua](/source/Soqosoqo_Duavata_ni_Lewenivanua) (SDL), who had formerly held the seat as a Labour Party candidate.[1]

Hussein had been a primary school head teacher before joining politics.[2]
