He won three medals at the [FIBT World Championships](/source/FIBT_World_Championships) with two silvers (Two-man and four-man: both [1990](/source/FIBT_World_Championships_1990) for [East Germany](/source/East_Germany)) and one bronze (Four-man: [1991](/source/FIBT_World_Championships_1991) for [Germany](/source/Germany)).

Jang also finished sixth in the four-man event at the [1992 Winter Olympics](/source/1992_Winter_Olympics) in [Albertville](/source/Albertville).
