At the [2014 World Junior Championships in Athletics](/source/2014_World_Junior_Championships_in_Athletics) in [Eugene, Oregon](/source/Eugene%2C_Oregon), Chapelle won his first major gold medal, vaulting to a world junior leading height of 5.55 m.
