***Avakin Life*** is a [3D](/source/Video_game_graphics#3D) [life simulation](/source/Life_simulation_game) [computer](/source/Computer_game) and [mobile video game](/source/Mobile_game) developed and published by Lockwood Publishing, a company based in [Nottingham, England](/source/Nottingham). The game was first released in December 2013 for [Android](/source/Android_(operating_system)) devices. As per 2022, it has more than 200 million registered users on iOS, Android and ChromeOS and more than a million daily players.[1][2]

According to the developer, *Avakin Life* was inspired by [PlayStation Home](/source/PlayStation_Home), as a similar platform for mobile, and saw an increase in its player base after PlayStation Home's closure in 2015.[2]
