# Australian Polo Federation

The **Australian Polo Federation** (also known as **Australian Polo Council**) is the [governing body](/source/Sport_governing_body) for the [sport](/source/Sport) of [Polo](/source/Polo) in [Australia](/source/Australia).

## Overview

The Australian Polo Federation is the main governing body for the sport of polo in Australia. It is affiliated with the [Federation of International Polo](/source/Federation_of_International_Polo) (FIP) and the [Hurlingham Polo Association](/source/Hurlingham_Polo_Association),[1] as well as the [Confederation of Australian Sport](/source/Confederation_of_Australian_Sport).[2][3]

The federation comprises associations of all Australian states except for [Tasmania](/source/Tasmania) and the [Northern Territory](/source/Northern_Territory).[4]

The member associations are:

## Australian Polo Hall of Fame

In 2012, the federation established the Australian Polo Hall of Fame. The inaugural inductees included the Ashton Brothers, [John Sinclair-Hill](/source/John_Sinclair-Hill_(polo_player)),[5] [Robert Skene](/source/Robert_Skene_(polo_player)), [Jim MacGinley](/source/Jim_MacGinley), [Peter Cudmore](/source/Peter_Cudmore), [Ken Telford](/source/Ken_Telford) and [James Ashton](/source/James_Ashton_(polo)).[6]
