# Austin Kleba

**Austin Kleba** (born July 27, 1999) is an American [speed skater](/source/Speed_skater) who represented the United States at the [2022 Winter Olympics](/source/2022_Winter_Olympics).

## Career

Kleba represented the United States at the [2016 Winter Youth Olympics](/source/2016_Winter_Youth_Olympics), where he won a silver medal in the [mixed team sprint](/source/Speed_skating_at_the_2016_Winter_Youth_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Mixed_team_sprint). He competed at the [2022 Four Continents Speed Skating Championships](/source/2022_Four_Continents_Speed_Skating_Championships) and won gold in the 500 metre, team sprint, and a silver medal in the 1000 metre.[1] He represented the United States at the [2022 Winter Olympics](/source/2022_Winter_Olympics).[2][3]

In November 2024, Kleba competed at the [2025 Four Continents Speed Skating Championships](/source/2025_Four_Continents_Speed_Skating_Championships) and won gold medal in team sprint, along with [Cooper McLeod](/source/Cooper_McLeod) and [Zach Stoppelmoor](/source/Zach_Stoppelmoor).[4]

During [World Cup #3](/source/2024%E2%80%9325_ISU_Speed_Skating_World_Cup_%E2%80%93_World_Cup_3) on January 26, 2025, he set a [world record](/source/World_record_progression_team_sprint_speed_skating_men) in the team sprint with a time of 1:16.98, becoming the first men's sprint team to break 1:17.[5] In March 2025, he competed at the [2025 World Single Distances Speed Skating Championships](/source/2025_World_Single_Distances_Speed_Skating_Championships) and won a bronze medal in the [team sprint](/source/2025_World_Single_Distances_Speed_Skating_Championships_%E2%80%93_Men's_team_sprint).[6]
