**Austin Bisnow** (born June 9, 1987) is an American musician, songwriter, record producer, and lead singer of the alternative band [Magic Giant](/source/Magic_Giant) and co-lead singer of the [indie folk](/source/Indie_folk) duo Somewhere In Between. He has written and produced songs for artists such as [David Guetta](/source/David_Guetta), [John Legend](/source/John_Legend), and [Jon Batiste](/source/Jon_Batiste).

His band [Magic Giant](/source/Magic_Giant) has performed on national television programs including [*The Today Show*](/source/Today_(American_TV_program)) and *[Good Morning America](/source/Good_Morning_America)*, played festivals such as [Coachella](/source/Coachella_Valley_Music_and_Arts_Festival), released multiple charting singles on U.S. radio, and toured with [OneRepublic](/source/OneRepublic), [Mike Posner](/source/Mike_Posner), and [The Revivalists](/source/The_Revivalists).

Bisnow grew up in [Washington, D.C.](/source/Washington%2C_D.C.)

He attended the University of Colorado Boulder, playing back-up long snapper for the Buffaloes and majoring in Music Composition.[1][2]

## Career

### Writer and producer

Bisnow is a writer, producer and pianist on the title track of [David Guetta](/source/David_Guetta)’s 2014 album *[Listen](/source/Listen_(David_Guetta_album))*, featuring [John Legend](/source/John_Legend). The album went No. 1 on Billboard's Dance Electronic Chart the day it was released, reached No. 4 on the *[Billboard 200](/source/Billboard_200)* making it Guetta's highest charting album in the US, and has gone No. 1 in over 50 countries worldwide.[3][4][5]

Bisnow is a writer and producer on [Jon Batiste](/source/Jon_Batiste)'s single, “Express Yourself”[6] from the album *Social Music*, which reached No. 1 on Billboard's Jazz chart.[7]

Bisnow is also credited as a writer and producer [Big Time Rush](/source/Big_Time_Rush_(group))'s, “Like Nobody’s Around," which reached No. 1 on Billboard's Kid Digital Song Sales chart.[8][9]

In 2015, Bisnow co-wrote "Can't Wait To Love You" for the [K-pop](/source/K-pop) group, [Beast](/source/Beast_(South_Korean_band)) which reached No. 1 on Japan’s [Oricon Singles Chart](/source/Oricon_Singles_Chart).[10]

Later that year, he also co-wrote the lead single "I Love It When You Cry (Moxoki)" *featuring [Moxie Raia](/source/Moxie_Raia)* off [Steve Aoki](/source/Steve_Aoki)'s 2015 release, *[Neon Future II](/source/Neon_Future_II).*

Bisnow is credited as co-writer and featured vocalist on [Paul Oakenfold](/source/Paul_Oakenfold)’s single “Who Do You Love.”[11][12]

As a writer and producer, Bisnow has also collaborated with artists including [Akon](/source/Akon), [Aloe Blacc](/source/Aloe_Blacc), [Diplo](/source/Diplo), [will.i.am](/source/Will.i.am), [Cody Simpson](/source/Cody_Simpson), and [Benny Blanco](/source/Benny_Blanco).[13][14][15][16]

As an instrumentalist, Bisnow played Rhodes piano on the Billboard No. 1 (US Mainstream Top 40) [Gym Class Heroes](/source/Gym_Class_Heroes)’ “[Stereo Hearts](/source/Stereo_Hearts)" feat. [Adam Levine](/source/Adam_Levine)”[17][18], and organ on [Cisco Adler](/source/Cisco_Adler)’s “Classic” along with the remix featuring [Sammy Adams](/source/Sammy_Adams).[18][19]

### Get Well Soon Tour

In 2011, Bisnow teamed up with [Grammy Award](/source/Grammy_Award)-winning producer [Benny Blanco](/source/Benny_Blanco) to create the non-profit Get Well Soon Tour, which aims to bring joy to children in hospitals through surprise visits from superstar musicians around the US.[20] Since their first visit with [Justin Bieber](/source/Justin_Bieber) on Valentine's Day, 2011,[21] the “tour” has brought artists like [Bruno Mars](/source/Bruno_Mars), [Pitbull](/source/Pitbull_(rapper)), [Britney Spears](/source/Britney_Spears), [John Legend](/source/John_Legend), [Selena Gomez](/source/Selena_Gomez), [Diplo](/source/Diplo), [Robin Thicke](/source/Robin_Thicke), [FUN.](/source/Fun_(band)), and [Maroon 5](/source/Maroon_5).[22][23][24][25][26]

In early 2014, Bisnow formed the [Indie folk](/source/Indie_folk) band [Magic Giant](/source/Magic_Giant) with Zambricki Li and Zang.[27]

Its singles "Set On Fire" charted top 30 on [Billboard](/source/Billboard_(magazine))'s Alternative chart[28] and No. 4 on [Spotify](/source/Spotify)'s US Viral 50,[29][30][31] while its single, "Window" charted top 40 on Billboard's Hot AC and Adult Pop charts.[32][33]

The band appeared on [ABC](/source/ABC_Studios)'s *[Good Morning America](/source/Good_Morning_America)* and [NBC](/source/NBC)'s *[Today](/source/Today_(U.S._TV_program))* show with [Hoda Kotb](/source/Hoda_Kotb) and [Kathie Lee Gifford](/source/Kathie_Lee_Gifford) as [Elvis Duran](/source/Elvis_Duran)'s [Artist of the Month](/source/Elvis_Duran's_Artist_of_the_Month), where they performed live their hit "Set on Fire".

The group was chosen as [ALT 98.7](/source/KSRY)'s Artist in Residence and named by [Rolling Stone](/source/Rolling_Stone) as one of 10 New Artists You Need to Know.[34]

### Live From Quarantine

From March to May 2020, during the [COVID-19 pandemic](/source/COVID-19_pandemic), Bisnow presented and hosted a four-weekend digital music festival fundraiser on [Instagram Live](/source/Instagram_Live) called Live From Quarantine, featuring performances and appearances from [The Lumineers](/source/The_Lumineers), [Woody Harrelson](/source/Woody_Harrelson), [Jason Mraz](/source/Jason_Mraz), [Edward Norton](/source/Edward_Norton), [Walk the Moon](/source/Walk_the_Moon), [The Head and the Heart](/source/The_Head_and_the_Heart), [David Blaine](/source/David_Blaine), [Leslie Odom Jr.](/source/Leslie_Odom_Jr.), [Edward Sharpe](/source/Edward_Sharpe_and_the_Magnetic_Zeros), [LP](/source/LP_(singer)), [Walk off the Earth](/source/Walk_off_the_Earth), [Local Natives](/source/Local_Natives), [Ashe](/source/Ashe_(singer)), [Plain White T's](/source/Plain_White_T's), [Allen Stone](/source/Allen_Stone), [Shakey Graves](/source/Shakey_Graves), [Nahko Bear](/source/Nahko_Bear), [Thievery Corporation](/source/Thievery_Corporation), and more.[44][45][46]

The festival raised over $100,000 for Frontline Responders Fund to get [personal protective equipment](/source/Personal_protective_equipment) to hospital workers and for [MusiCares](/source/MusiCares) Coronavirus Relief Fund to offer grants to music industry professionals whose livelihood had been affected by the pandemic.[47]

### The Topanga A-Frame

Bisnow and Robertson own and operate the Topanga A-Frame,[48] a cabin in [Topanga Canyon, California](/source/Topanga%2C_California). The property was profiled by Dwell[49] in an article about its renovation and design, and has been included in travel and design roundups by GQ[50] and Vogue.[51] In 2025, Peerspace named it one of its top architectural spaces and selected it as its “Wow Space” winner.[52]

### Somewhere In Between

In June 2024, Bisnow and his wife Deena Robertson launched the indie folk duo Somewhere In Between.[53] Their debut single, "Mr & Mrs," consists of the couple's wedding vows, which they recorded with [Grammy Award](/source/Grammy_Award)-winning artist-producer [RY X](/source/RY_X) before Robertson underwent surgery for mouth cancer.[54]

Somewhere In Between released their debut album, *Stories Untold*, in 2024, followed by *We Are Only Human* in 2026. Their 2025 single "Lay Your Head On Me" received coverage by outlets including *Earmilk*, *1883 Magazine*, and *Backseat Mafia*.[55][56][57]

### In Between Coffee

Early in 2025, Somewhere In Between launched a half-caffeinated coffee brand named In Between Coffee.[58][59]

## Personal life

Bisnow is married to Deena Robertson, Canadian entrepreneur and co-founder of Modo Yoga LA, a Los Angeles hot yoga studio now called North Ray Yoga.[60][61][62] The couple collaborates in the indie folk duo Somewhere In Between and on other entrepreneurial ventures.

Austin Bisnow is the brother of Elliott Bisnow (best known as the founder of [Summit](/source/Summit_Series_(conference)), and from 2013 to 2023 a co‐owner of Powder Mountain Ski Resort in Utah[63]). He is also the son of author [Margot Machol](/source/Margot_Machol) and media entrepreneur [Mark Bisnow](/source/Mark_Bisnow).[64][65]
