Aujas was founded in 2008 by three co-founders M Srinivas Rao, Sameer Shelke, and Navin Kotian.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.bloomberg.com/profiles/people/17889277-m-rao|title=M Rao|work=Bloomberg|accessdate=17 January 2015}}</ref> The company was incubated by [IDG Ventures](/source/IDG_Ventures) as part of its Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) program and had also received seed funding from IDG.
