**Au Tak** (also spelled **Au Tack**; [Chinese](/source/Traditional_Chinese_characters): 區德; 1840–1920) or **Au Chak-mun** (區澤民) was a [Hong Kong](/source/Hong_Kong) entrepreneur. He was the [proprietor](/source/Proprietor) of a furniture shop and the [property developers](/source/Property_developers) in [Central District](/source/Central%2C_Hong_Kong) on [Hong Kong Island](/source/Hong_Kong_Island).[1] He used to be the director of [Tung Wah Hospital](/source/Tung_Wah_Hospital).[2]

In 1912, Au went into partnership with his son-in-law's father Sir [Kai Ho](/source/Kai_Ho) to form a company to develop a piece of land formed by [land reclamation](/source/Land_reclamation) in [Kowloon Bay](/source/Kowloon_Bay). It was planned to build a residential garden estate, but the plan failed and the company went into [liquidation](/source/Liquidation) in 1924, after both Au and Ho had died.[1] In 1925, the land was taken over by the [British Hong Kong](/source/British_Hong_Kong) Government as the use of the [airport](/source/Kai_Tak_Airport).[3]
