'''Attractin''' is a [protein](/source/protein) that in humans is encoded by the ''ATRN'' [gene](/source/gene).<ref name="pmid9736737">{{cite journal | vauthors = Duke-Cohan JS, Gu J, McLaughlin DF, Xu Y, Freeman GJ, Schlossman SF | title = Attractin (DPPT-L), a member of the CUB family of cell adhesion and guidance proteins, is secreted by activated human T lymphocytes and modulates immune cell interactions | journal = Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A | volume = 95 | issue = 19 | pages = 11336–41 |date=Oct 1998 | pmid = 9736737 | pmc = 21643 | doi =10.1073/pnas.95.19.11336 | bibcode = 1998PNAS...9511336D | doi-access = free }}</ref><ref name="pmid8596018">{{cite journal | vauthors = Duke-Cohan JS, Morimoto C, Rocker JA, Schlossman SF | title = Serum high molecular weight dipeptidyl peptidase IV (CD26) is similar to a novel antigen DPPT-L released from activated T cells | journal = J Immunol | volume = 156 | issue = 5 | pages = 1714–21 |date=Apr 1996 | doi = 10.4049/jimmunol.156.5.1714 | pmid = 8596018 }}</ref><ref name="entrez">{{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: ATRN attractin| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=8455}}</ref>

Attractin is a Group XI [C-type lectin](/source/C-type_lectin).

Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms exist for this gene. One of the isoforms is a membrane-bound protein with sequence similarity to the mouse mahogany protein, a receptor involved in controlling obesity. The other isoform is a secreted protein involved in the initial immune cell clustering during inflammatory responses that may regulate the chemotactic activity of chemokines.<ref name="entrez" />
