Attie Building was built as a retail location by [Henry A. In 1984, the [Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District](/source/Hollywood_Boulevard_Commercial_and_Entertainment_District) was added to the [National Register of Historic Places](/source/National_Register_of_Historic_Places), with Attie Building listed as a [contributing property](/source/contributing_property) in the district.<ref name=NRHS1/>

==Architecture and design==
Attie Building features an elaborate second-story [art deco](/source/art_deco) design, with notable elements that include orange panels carved with flora and fauna designs, decorative tiles set off from the first story and roofline, and a series of [piers](/source/Pier_(architecture)) that project above the roofline, with three [sash windows](/source/sash_windows) recessed between each pier.<ref name=NRHS1/>
