**Ashow** is a small village and [civil parish](/source/Civil_parish) in the [Warwick district](/source/Warwick_(district)) of [Warwickshire](/source/Warwickshire), England, about 2.5 miles (4 km) south-east of central [Kenilworth](/source/Kenilworth). According to the [2001 census](/source/United_Kingdom_Census_2001) the [parish](/source/Parish) had a population of 104, increasing slightly to 108 at the [2011 Census](/source/United_Kingdom_2011_Census).[1] The village has avoided the typical expansion of most British settlements which took place in the twentieth century.[2] Ashow has around 51 houses and a small church, The [Assumption of Our Lady](/source/Assumption_of_Our_Lady), which dates from the early 12th century and has a graveyard. The village has no forms of industry or employment, although Ashow and the neighbouring [hamlet](/source/Hamlet_(place)) of Bericote (depopulated since 1540) formerly had three mills. The village is accessible by the B4115 [Coventry](/source/Coventry) Road (just off the [A46](/source/A46_road)/[A452](/source/A452_road) roundabout), and the southernmost tip of the parish lies on the [River Avon](/source/River_Avon%2C_Warwickshire). The village is quite flat, at an altitude of 60–80 metres (200–260 feet). The earliest-known documented reference to Ashow (or "Asceshot") is in the [Domesday Book](/source/Domesday_Book) of 1086.
