In the [2013 Delhi Legislative Assembly election](/source/2013_Delhi_Legislative_Assembly_election), Chauhan was declared the Aam Aadmi Party candidate from [Ambedkar Nagar](/source/Ambedkar_Nagar_(Delhi_Assembly_constituency)).
