'''Asfalt Records''' is a Polish [independent record label](/source/independent_record_label) specialized in [hip-hop music](/source/hip-hop_music). It was founded in 1998 by Marcin "Tytus" Grabski.<ref>{{cite book|author1=Patryk Gałuszka|author2=Katarzyna Korzeniewska|author3=Katarzyna M. Wyrzykowska|author4=Aleksandra Jagiełło-Skupińska|title=Rynek fonograficzny w Polsce 2011/2012 |date=2013|publisher=Instytut Muzyki i Tańca Polskie Centrum Informacji Muzycznej POLMIC / Związek Kompozytorów Polskich|location=Warsaw|page=134|url=http://imit.org.pl/uploads/materials/files/Raport%20-%20Rynek%20fonograficzny.pdf|accessdate=18 September 2015}}</ref> In July 1998, Asfalt Records signed a three-year [distribution deal](/source/distribution_deal) with [Sony Music Entertainment Poland](/source/Sony_Music_Entertainment_Poland). The first album released by Asfalt Records was the debut of Polish group OMP ''Wilanów... zobacz różnicę'', which was released on December 16, 1998. Afterwards, two groups, RHX and [Płomień 81](/source/P%C5%82omie%C5%84_81) joined the label. In June 1999, the label released a [12" single](/source/12%22_single) ''Otzafszetu/Oempe'', which was most likely to be the first hip-hop record released in such format.<ref>{{cite web|title=RPP: Wywiad z Jano OMP (Olimpu Muzyczna Plejada)!: Impreza: Rap Portal|url=http://ovh.rapportal.pl/interviews/rpp-wywiad-z-jano-omp-olimpu-muzyczna-plejada/18250|accessdate=18 September 2015|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150920074011/http://ovh.rapportal.pl/interviews/rpp-wywiad-z-jano-omp-olimpu-muzyczna-plejada/18250|archive-date=20 September 2015|url-status=dead}}</ref> In February 2001, Grabski founded a [sub-label](/source/sub-label) Teeto Records that was supposed to release hip-hop-related records.

In April 2007, album ''[HollyŁódź](/source/Holly%C5%81%C3%B3d%C5%BA)'' by [O.S.T.R.](/source/O.S.T.R.) was certified as [gold record](/source/gold_record). It was the first Asfalt's record, which reached that status.<ref>{{cite web|title=O.S.T.R., Klubowa.PL|url=http://www.hip-hop.klubowa.pl/artysta,155,1,O_S_T_R.html|accessdate=18 September 2015|archive-date=16 October 2009|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20091016235237/http://www.hip-hop.klubowa.pl/artysta,155,1,O_S_T_R.html|url-status=dead}}</ref> The first [platinum record](/source/platinum_record) was also [O.S.T.R.](/source/O.S.T.R.)'s album ''[Tylko dla dorosłych](/source/Tylko_dla_doros%C5%82ych)'', released in 2010.
