**Asekan** (Persian: اسكان)[a] is a village in [Jovestan Rural District](/source/Jovestan_Rural_District)[1][b] of [Bala Taleqan District](/source/Bala_Taleqan_District) in [Taleqan County](/source/Taleqan_County), [Alborz](/source/Alborz_province) province, [Iran](/source/Iran).

## Demographics

### Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 65 in 20 households, when it was in [Bala Taleqan Rural District](/source/Jovestan_Rural_District)[c] of the former [Taleqan District](/source/Taleqan_District) in [Savojbolagh County](/source/Savojbolagh_County), [Tehran](/source/Tehran_province) province.[2] In 2008, the district was separated from the county in establishing [Taleqan County](/source/Taleqan_County). The rural district was transferred to the new [Bala Taleqan District](/source/Bala_Taleqan_District) and renamed [Jovestan Rural District](/source/Jovestan_Rural_District).[3] In 2010, the county was separated from the province in the establishment of [Alborz](/source/Alborz_province) province.[4] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 78 people in 24 households.[5]
