**Ascheberg** (ˈaʃəbɛʁk) is a municipality in the [district of Coesfeld](/source/Coesfeld_(district)) in the state of [North Rhine-Westphalia](/source/North_Rhine-Westphalia), [Germany](/source/Germany). The neighbouring cities, towns and municipalities of Ascheberg are (clockwise, starting in the North) the city [Münster](/source/M%C3%BCnster), the town [Drensteinfurt](/source/Drensteinfurt) ([District Warendorf](/source/Warendorf_(district))), the city [Hamm](/source/Hamm,_North_Rhine-Westphalia), the town [Werne](/source/Werne) ([District Unna](/source/Unna_(district)), the municipalities [Nordkirchen](/source/Nordkirchen) and [Senden](/source/Senden) (both [District Coesfeld](/source/Coesfeld_(district)))

## Politics

The current mayor is Thomas Stohldreier of the [CDU](/source/Christian_Democratic_Union_of_Germany) who has been serving as mayor since 2020. In the [2025 local elections](/source/2025_North_Rhine-Westphalia_local_elections) he was reelected with 92 % of votes, being the only candidate.[1]
