# Artyom Arefyev

**Artyom Alexandrovich Arefyev** (Артём Александрович Арефьев) (born 17 June 1984) is a [Paralympian](/source/Paralympian) [athlete](/source/Track_and_field) from Russia competing mainly in category T36 sprint events.[1]

He competed in the [2004 Summer Paralympics](/source/2004_Summer_Paralympics) in [Athens](/source/Athens), Greece. There he won a gold medal in the men's 400 metres – T36 event, and a gold medal in the men's 1500 metres – T36 event. He also competed at the [2008 Summer Paralympics](/source/2008_Summer_Paralympics) in [Beijing](/source/Beijing), China. There he won a gold medal in the men's 800 metres – T36 event, and a silver medal in the men's 400 metres – T36 event.
